ACCREDITATION RULES
for journalists and the media during the Chess Tournament:
Bilbao Grand Slam Final Masters 2009

Introduction

These accreditation rules are aimed to provide journalists from the various media with the optimum conditions to perform their professional work combining their informative and logistic needs with the requirements that organizing an event such as the Bilbao Grand Slam Final Masters 2009 involves.

Accreditations

Mass media companies will be able to accredit journalists to represent them during the Tournament.
Accreditations will give the right to use the Press Centre, to information, acts and official receptions.

Accreditations Request

Applications will be submitted by e-mail pmolina@emeservicios.com and will include the following information:

  1. Name of the communication medium.
  2. Type of communication medium.
  3. Journalists first and second names and position.
  4. Estimation of the Tournament’s media coverage by the relevant medium.
  5. The use or not of video and TV cameras.
  6. Company’s address.
  7. Telephone and fax.
  8. E-mail address.

Accreditations Collection

The accreditations which will be given individually to the journalists of the various media on presentation of an identification will be collected at the Press Centre from september the 6th on in the opening hours of the Press Center.

Documentation and technical support for the accredited journalist´s work

The Press Centre will provide accredited journalists with the documentation and technical support described below in order to facilitate their working requirements:

  1. Information on current events.
  2. Possibility to participate in all press conferences.
  3. Help with the arrangement of interviews to the participants and organizers of the Tournament.
  4. Additional information materials.
  5. Daily press releases.

Obligations of Accredited Journalists

Accredited journalists are obliged to:

  1. Adhere to the procedures and norms set for the celebration of the Tournament.
  2. Carry the accreditation badge on a visible place at all times.
  3. Take pictures and video recordings inside the playing space glass case only during the first 5 minutes after the start of the games.
  4. Once the first 5 minutes mentioned above have elapsed the recording of the games with camera sets with focus light as well as photographs taken with flash from the outside of the glass case will not be allowed.

The Tournament’s Press Centre

The Press Centre, with address at Plaza Nueva, nº 10- 2º Izda,  48005 Bilbao.

Opening hours: 6th of september: from 16:00 to 30 minutes after the end of the last game. 7, 8, 10 and 11 of september: from 16:30 to 30 minutes after the end of the last game. 12th of september, from 15:30 to 30 minutes after the end of the last game.
